Tips for an active Summer

Summer will soon be here, and here you will find som ideas to activities and experiences

The snow is still lying in the mountains, and there are still possibilities for summer skiing. While the snow melts, the water flows strong in the river Valldøla, and the raftingseason has begun. Later in the summer, when the river is smaller, you can do canyoning. Uteguiden and Ræin offers guided tours, courses and equipment-rental for many activities, among others paddling, SUP and cycling. The family park Valldal Aktivitetspark offers climbing trails and fun activities for the whole family. 

You can also visit the breeding facility Hofseth at Vindsneset. This is a 2h guided tour with the electric boat Hofseth Zero. For booking and more information, contact Uteguiden in Valldal.

Salmon fishing in the river Stordalselva is available from 24th June to 6th August.

Do you enjoy playing frisbee golf? Then you can try the 18 hole course at Jemtegård Feriesenter.

Tafjord Friluftsbad is an outdoor heated swimmingpool with great wiew to the mountains in Tafjord. In the village Tafjord you can also try rappelling at the Zakariasdammen dam and visit the power- and avalanche exhibition and activity centre Ville krefter. 

If the weather should turn grey and wet, you can enjoy bowling at Kulå bowling or test the escape labyrinth at Trolldungeon. We can also recommend a yoga- and spa retreat at Meretes Garden.

The region also offers a lot of hiking tours, both shorter and longer and demanding alternativs. A beautiful starting point is  Herdalssetra in Norddal. Here you can also experience the world heritage site and a fully operative summer farm. You can also hike the Valldalsleden pilegrim route to Trondheim.
